2. Bc4 !? against the sicilian

It is more natural and more FLEXIBLE to develop the Knight first. Developing the Bishop to c4 that early only gives Black an easy plan of e6 and d5 unnecessarily.
Knights before bishops is no rule. Carlsen plays 1 e4 e5 2 Bc4. Besides 1 e4 c5 2 Nc3 Nc6 3 Bc4 transposes.
Ask Carlsen what he played before he was the world champion.
Why would you allow Black to play d5? Black won't play d5 after Nc3, but he will get it eventually which is awesome for Black.
#11 Yeah, has made this up and I used it several times. In German we usually say „Nicht mein Bier!“ (not my beer)

I have nothing against „Bishops before Knights“ generally.
1 d4 Nf6 2 Bf4? Bishop before knight
1 e4 c5 2 Nc3 Nc6 3 g3? bishop before knight
1 e4 e5 2 Nf3 Nc6 3 Bb5? bishop before knight
1 e4 c5 2 Nf3 Nc6 3 Bb5? bishop before knight

Sure black can play ...e6 and eventually ...d5, but white can a) play Bf4 and Nb5 ignoring ...dxc4, or b) play Bb5 and reach a Nimzoindian reversed or c) play Bb3 and attack with f4.

Sure black equalizes, but black equalizes in other lines of the Sicilian as well. Objectively 2 Bc4 is no weaker than 2 Nf3.

I rest my case.

L stands for Laufer in your country right? I simply love developing the Knight first since we definitely know where we will develop it.
