(this is very distracting during fast game).
Either I do not know the solution to the problem, or this is a ridiculous inconvenience of the site.

If you're playing on Google Chrome, you can disable popup notifications quite easily. Settings > Privacy and security > Site settings > Notifications

It doesn't work. It is a setting only for notification popups.
