Cry, Carlsen fans!!!

Ding played great in Sinquefield, but saying that Carlsen is in bad form when he was joint WINNER of the classical portion is kinda stupid. Nakamura is no threat to Carlsen, only his really hardcore fans have some faith in him actually winning WC, just tell me when was the last time he s actually defeated a strong player in a classical game? Yeah, can t remember either... he s not the best blitz player in the world either, only the highest rated, he became highest rated because he has not played in last grand chess tour while the other top blitzers - Carlsen and Lagrave did and they have lost some rating. So doesn t look like much of a threat to Carlsen in the moment, only Caruana appears to be relevant as he s shown in last WC match.
@gayweather Exactly! Magnus is not in a bad form, i think the problem is that these guys don´ t take rapid and blitz as serious as classical chess. I think you are right about Fabi, he is the only player at the moment that really can challenge Magnus. No doubt about it, this was Ding´ s tournament but as written before one win does not make a WC. If Ding defeats Fabi in the challenger tournament he is the right challenger, let us see if that happens!
@ErikSkov Carlsen is currently unbeaten in 90 classical games in a row, just 11 more games and he surpasses Ding Liren s 100 games wihtout a loss. There is no need to make a big deal of MC losing to Ding in a tiebreaker, anything can happen in blitz chess when such strong players play, besides Ding only managed to flag Carlsen in their first blitz game, there is no guarantee he would have won that game if Carlsen had some time left. This loss clearly affected his chess in the second game as he had to win.
@gayweather "Ding only managed to flag Carlsen in their first blitz game, there is no guarantee he would have won that game if Carlsen had some time left"

This is not true, Carlsen was outplayed and used his time not to lose immediately. Using most of his time he was able to return to the game, but it was too late ... It would be wrong to imply that it was Carlsen who lost instead of Ding who won the game!

" he became highest rated because he has not played in last grand chess tour while the other top blitzers"

I don't know... Some people have noticed Nakamura taking the top 1 blitz without playing. But we have to understand that in Paris Nakamura played and Carlsen not. Nevertheless, Nakamura lost 31 points in Paris! (for curious, MVL lost 185 points, he played in Paris AND Saint Louis. Also, Anand won Paris!!!)

PS: Paris was just few days before... 01.08.2019, while Saint Louis was 13/14 .08.2019
willwss: Carlsen could actually claim a 3 fold repetition just before he lost on time, he didn t do it though. He might have missed it or his ego or time prevented him from doing that, ding didn t really win that game, he was better throughout the game but he didn t manage to convert it chess wise, father time gave him that victory.
@gayweather and I am sure you have heard that time is a piece and one of the most importante so he did win that game.
Post is probably full trolling attempt. Why to expect World Champion to come and win every tournament he is in? Every man has ups and downs. I am happy we can witness Carlsen's greatness. There will come time when he will be replaced by other stronger chess player. That's how things go. Usual stuff. Yesterday's bullet portion of Magnus was so amazing to watch, even he didn't win first place, but the way he plays is astonishing. Best of luck to Magnus !!!
