Takeback opinions make me quit Lichess

This is hilarious. How embarrassing to not only be such a whiner, but to be so afraid of listening to people tell you about it.
If my opponent makes a blunder, *and* I am able to figure out the proper response and demonstrate it, he then should be able to take it back? But If I don't find the winning reply then he gets to play on? Seems wrong to me.
Really? I'm toxic if my opinion is that takebacks shouldn't be allowed in rated games? Takebacks gives you the chance to save lost positions thus manipulating your rating. In casual chess it's ok but in rated games it definitely shouldn't be a thing.
This goes entirely against the idea of timed chess. Sometimes you're going to run out of time or make blunders. Just get over it and learn to be more careful instead.
Blunders are part of chess, accept them, learn from them and don't make them the next time.

It's how you get better. If you allow takebacks every time someone makes a blunder, every game would end in a draw.
Imagine if take backs were applicable everywhere, and had to be accepted...

You are watching your favorite basketball team play in the championship game. Your team leads by 1 point. The clock has run out, but your team made a foul. The opposing team is it the free throw line... The opposing player shoots the ball in the air and misses... and again... Game over your favorite team has won the championship! Wait hold on... The shooter got take backs, and he took take backs until he made both baskets. Better luck next time loser.

Your boss gives you a raise, you are now making a good sum of money. You work hard, and time for your paycheck comes around. You notice that your pay is at the old rate. You go to your boss like wtf? Then he says "Sorry, I take back your raise."

You go out to the bar with your wife. She walks into the mens room with another man, and she cheats on you on the dirty bar bathroom floor. You just stand there and watch in disgust... Time comes to go home, and when you are about to yell at her and divorce her and are super mad she says "I take it back, just pretend like that never happened"... Ya, that totally would change everything...

There are no do-overs. Compulsory do-overs is the stupidest thing in the world. Games would be nothing but do-overs again and again on top of other do-overs. If you want to allow a do-over then that is on you. I have taken a "whatever" approach with some players that like those do overs... What they do is take 20 do-overs until they eventually get a winning position. If I got unlimited time, an do-overs I could beat Carlsen. It may take me thousands or more do-overs but eventually, I'll get an advantageous position & eventually I'll find a way to keep that advantage.
if the game is rated no take backs at all,, if its casual i usually give a few.. but to think you should get a takeback everytime you request one is a bit much , just take longer and make your dedicated move
If you want people accept take backs all the time (or in my opinion simply accept take backs) you don’t really want to play chess you are wanting to play a Chess variant.

Chess is a precision game. The mistakes are a core part of the game.
I have mis-clicked and lost queens in totally won positions. I curse myself for not learning to use a mouse properly, remind myself that there is an option to check move before played and congratulate my opponent on playing this particular game better than me.

Take backs are not allowed in OTB chess, who 'toxically' a piece only has to be touched and then it has to be moved, if it can be. At least online there are options.

In my opinion, games are only games when each player accepts and abides by agreed rules. If that is toxic then I am walking, talking poison and happy to be so.
