OUTDATED BROWSER

#21 #23 I've never changed browsers for a specific website and I never will.
Every information about the site is in the rankings.

As far as ranking is rising ( and it does so since lichess exists ), individual opinions don't matter.

I have my criticisim of some features of the site, but this always results in me creating solutions for myself. Sort of supplementary functions to make my experience better.

I see from the logs of my server that there is some interest in my solutions. My pages get some hits. But this is very minimal compared to the traffic of this site, may be 10 - 20 hits a day.

So all these problems are not problems for the vast majority and they can live without those features and still use the site.

People vote with their feet, this is the hard reality.

I don't think that requiring modern browsers will result in any macro level set-back. Browsers nowadays update themselves, so this is not a real world issue for 99.9% of users.
#24 Thankfully lynx is open source, so feel free to submit a javascript engine patch to its developers.
If you're using old deprecated operating systems and browsers, you're putting yourself and everyone else on the internet at risk. Those systems are security issues.

Supporting these old browsers for this long is a gift. Most places have them deprecated, blocked or otherwise unsupported.

New browsers are free, faster, and support everything on the web better. It isn't asking too much to install a free, faster, and better thing to put on your computer to use a free and faster service. If that is too much to ask, I wish you luck on your journey, the rest of the world is moving forward.
I prefer elinks or links over lynx for terminal console browsing.

You don't have to. With the latest version of Firefox, chrome etc you can view pretty much all websites. Or do you have some crappy old sites you can only visit with insecure and/or unsupported browsers to visit?
