new opening (for black)

@tpr
i have heard some people say the same as u as well as the complete opposite to you "play all the openings to find which u are comfortable in" whats your say
"I do not fear the men who has learnt 10,000 openings once, I fear the men who have learnt 1 opening 10,000 times,"

Pick one and stick to it.
Play it in all time controls and against all opponents.
"All main openings are sound" - Kasparov
Just pick a defence for black against 1 e4, a defence for black against 1 d4 and an opening for white.
Fischer for example played the Najdorf, the King's Indian Defence, and the Ruy Lopez his whole career.
You need to lose like a hundred games with an opening before you even begin to grasp it. If you change openings all the time, then you keep losing all the time.
All changing of openings takes time and effort, better spent in other ways e.g. on rook endings.
For professional players it is a bit different, as their opponents study all of their games and prepare accordingly.
That is why Carlsen plays different openings to avoid opponent's preparation.
Maxime Vachier-Lagrave however plays Najdorf, Grünfeld consistently: opponents can try and out-prepare him.
I don't find it tough to change I have played every opening and can still against e4 and at last, found my comfort zone may be in your times @tpr nobody knew what others play nowadays data spreads fast and everyone knows what u play
against e4, i play caro kann which is solid and quite dynamic, i also play owen defense, which allows you to surprise with a rather interesting originality. I sometimes also play the Sicilian defense. against d4 the Slavic defense and I particularly like the chameleon variant. but of course I never hesitate to use other openings and I always love to learn more :) good luck everyone on the long road of openings !!!
@Mahith1708 Yeah even 1500 can prepare against you as long you have games in the database. But if you only play online, you can just play one good opening your whole life.
There's an interesting Chess Dojo video about opening choice for black for "professionals" and for club players:

Arguably the most interesting bits are the introductory and final discussions, and how widely different the philosophies of the different coaches are - and these are IM and GM level players with a lot of teaching experience. For instance, David Preuss wants his students to play a range of openings to get experience of a lot of different types of position, while others prefer a more focused approach. So based on that I feel like a lot of the "he says she says" arguments about the one correct approach are just that.

That said, one thing that they all agree with - to the point of making jokes about it - is that they want their students to learn openings in terms of ideas and middlegame plans and actually playing chess, not just memorization without understanding.
@Kaimor If you had been a Sicilian Dragon player, you might consider Modern Defense.
You might enter Pseudo-Dragon line which is considered better than Sicilian Dragon:
1. e4 g6 2. d4 Bg7 3. Nc3 d6 4. Be3 a6 5. Qd2 Nd7 6. f3
By the way, at your level, many e4 players will not be able to figure out the best ideas against Modern defense.
As well, Modern defense is very flexible opening: you can apply same structure and same ideas against 1. c4. 1. d4 and 1. Nf3.
