Is the size shown on database.lichess.org accurate?

Just downloaded the latest data (2020-04.pgn.bz2) from database.lichess.org/ and my system shows that it is 17.2 GB (not 18.6 GB stated on the site).

Retried it a few times and all the time get the same result. Is the data shown on database.lichess accurate?

Well there might be some issues with it. But is you are using it as a tablebase, then i dunno.

It's 18.6 gigabyte (GB), yet 17.2 gibibyte (GiB).

I thought the site had checksums listed somewhere. Perhaps torrent or LBRY is something we should consider regardless.

Torrents are a good way of making it easy for people to help Lichess out.

SHA256 checksums are right below the table.
