Should I give up crazy house?

I'm rated 1700 on classical, but on crazy house I can't even defeat 1500, I'm even struggling to beat 1200. My favorite openings just don't work in crazy house. My favorite piece, the bishop is grossly weakened, easily blocked by dropped pawns, while knights are almost as powerful as rooks. Once you lose the initiative your opponent can just constantly check you with dropped pieces, force you to exchange knight with queen and so on.

I am seriously considering giving up crazy house, but I'm a bit worried that say, in the future I continue to improve my normal chess skills, one day my classical rating went to 2000, but my crazy house rating would still remain 1300. Will this huge gap in ratings between different variants cause some automatic anti-cheating algorithm on lichess think I'm cheating, which obviously would be a false alarm?
No, it won't affect you.

In fact, don't think of crazyhouse as merely a chess variant, think of it as a different game altogether. You have to calculate and evaluate positions differently from normal chess (as with all the variants here on lichess, except 960.)

If you want to improve at crazyhouse, consider reading okei's excellent site: http://zhchess.blogspot.com/?m=1
