When I finish a game during an OTB chess tournament, I usually place the pieces back on their starting position and then place the winning colored king in the center of the chess board. I now know better. It should also go on the winning central color. What I did not know is that both kings should be placed in the center. I don't like that Idea because it is not as clear as leaving the winning King on the central winning color.
I read in a chess competition rule that both kings should be placed diagonally to each other, on the central squares. If the opponent using the black pieces won, then both Kings are placed on the central black squares. If the player using the white pieces won, both kings are placed on the central white squares.
Basically, both kings are touching diagonally on the same central winning color so that anyone that was following the match, can discover the end result even if the players are no longer playing the game.
How is it done or could be done using PC connected electronic chess boards?
So how do we leave the chess pieces for an OTB draw?
