I would like to draw the attention of whoever is reading this to a most disheartening behavior that I have noticed proliferating of late: the "this topic is closed" post.
I am not talking about the actual closing of the topic. That's fine, if the moderators have good reason for closing it.
Rather, I am referring to the user who dislikes where a topic is going and types "this topic is now closed" as a post.
If you do not have the rights or responsibilities granted to moderators, then not only does this post by definition make you a liar (otherwise, you couldn't post), but it is also rather rude (both to anyone who is engaging in conversation within the thread, and- I imagine- to the moderators, who you actually take time out of their days to monitor these exact issues), juvenile, and just plain annoying.
If you are one of those who is wont to post this type of message: Please desist. If a topic merits being closed, report it to the moderators and move on.
