I just played chess OTB after 2 years and it's disproven the myth of needing OTB games

Anticipating this occasion before hand I was a little apprehensive that it would take me a while to adjust. But no, right out of the gate I was at ease with the real board as I was playing in my club before covid. And here has been much opening and middle game theory I have learnt during my break from OTB , improvement with tactical patterns etc and I was able to use all of that progress in my first game, which btw was with someone rated 2300 on lichess and although he eventually beat me I gave him a good game. So myth of needing to play OTB for improvement debunked.
You NEED OTB Games in order for your Rating to go up Eventually ... Otherwise you stay Unrated Forever . There is only ONE RATING ELO OTB ... It's the ONLY RATING YOU HAVE ... GM IM FM NM & CM Titles exist ONLY OTB . ALL RATINGS ARE OTB
EXPERT 2000-2199 A Players 1800-1999 B Players 1600-1799 C Players 1400-1599 (Most players are C Players) D Players 1200-1399 D Players 1000-1199 . Heh' I was once 1255P then went up 1000 points in 5 years playing at all locations over the board RATED tournaments
Pretty sure no one said you NEED OTB play for improvement, but it's usually helpful.

If you weren't able to apply stuff from what you've learned at home than why would practice work at all?

The point of playing slow games IS to apply what you've learned at home so you didn't really "debunk" anything here.

Nonsense. FIDE is a private organization ran by corrupt rich people. Let me straighten you out on something. FIDE does not OWN chess. No one does. It's a game that belongs to the whole world and anyone can make a chess organization and assign ratings in any way they chose. And there's nothing to say that their ratings would be any less valid than FIDE's. The idea that they are is all in your head. It's an idea that only persists because enough people believe it. And if tomorrow I launched a rating system that became more popular than FIDE's then my rating system would take over as the dominant one.

But all of this, everything that you said and everything in the above paragraph is totally irrelevant! This thread is about my chess ability, not my ratings. You are conflating the two. Ratings are just an arbitrary number invented for people's vanity. What counts , all that counts, is ability.

I'm pretty sure that people have said that, the idea for this thread was inspired by another one I was reading just before writing this.

But I WAS able to. That's the point.

But I WAS able to. I did apply it. That's my whole point. Didn't you even read my OP?
I can see I struck a nerve. You apparently have a title and you're very proud of it. I'm guessing that your self esteem and ego are very much tied up with that FIDE rating. And no offence, but all of your angry screaming the same thing over and over simply because I challenged the exclusive dominance of FIDE ratings would indicate to me that there is not a lot else going on in your life to justify your ego. Again, no offense I'm just making an observation that allows me to understand the irrational anger behind your comments.
I'm happy for you that you have a title, I really am, and I wish you well.
LOL I was engaging with others & u came along & said you don't need to play Chess ? Emanuel Lasker by the way on the subject did say average players can become "Good" . You disparaging me has nothing to do with anything as I said you need to play over the board games to become a GM . I'm a Contractor for Section 8 & Senior Apartments in NY & NJ . Business >>> I always give advice to others on how to train on Lichess & they love it ... You had some weird assertation that needed debunking I guess . remebber this part of this that Emanuel Lasker asserted he could train a person of ordinary intelligence to be a good player
I never meant to disparage you, as I pointed out.

Excuse me, I would like to remind you that I am the author of this thread. You came into my thread not the other way around.
> & said you don't need to play Chess ?
No, I said you don't need to play OTB chess to improve. And I stand by that. And you've said nothing to even remotely make me think otherwise. Just screaming about only FIDE ratings are official.

The rest of your post is not coherent enough for me to respond to. I did notice the section 8. That may explain some things
