Losing due to time control

I think you should consider an evaluation of the board when there are 15-10 seconds left on the clock and at least call it a draw if the player who used all his time is way up in material....

I posted the link to one of my games as an example; i lost this match with my opponent having 5 seconds left. I know it sounds like I'm frustrated about the loss but it's not in the spirit of chess to make quick moves just to save time so your opponent loses based solely on that.
I have more examples, and I am sure it happened to others too...

Indeed. I've lost several thousand games here on time.
I think you should use a 1-second or greater increment to heavily discourage random shuffling.



-9.1 is the stockfish eval of the final position yet you thought it was acceptable to play on and claim the win on time. You can't have everything your own way.
Losing because of time control is very stupid and dissapoint me and my games specially when im winning position
If only there were a way to add more time onto the clock when players move... if only...
@NeverBeenTimid This enforces what I said even more. I wasn't blaming the player, I was pointing out something that doesn't feel fair. The point remains the same whether I'm on the losing or winning side of the game. If I had 1 minute on the clock and he had none, then the problem would have been that he spent too much time on certain positions. But if our time was (more or less) the same, he should have won the match based on the position, or at least draw...instead, the worse player(in that case, me) got the win
@Toadofsky It's not about adding more time, because it will run out eventually anyway....it's about the fact that , when the time difference between two players is less than 10 seconds, the clearly weaker one (based on the position) should not be declared winner.
What is the point of the clock then? If you don't like losing/winning on time then play with an increment.
If you're not familiar with how increment works, it adds a little time to your clock after every move you make. As long as you keep moving reasonably quickly you will never run out of time no matter how many moves you make.

For example, 3+2 will start each of you with 3 minutes, and after every move you get an extra 2 seconds. If 2 seconds isn't enough, you can create your own seek with whatever increment you want.
