Stockfish

I just played a game where stockfish level ten had an average centipawn loss of 35 and lost in 42 moves. Why is computer level 8 so bad sometimes?
this is possibly the worst humblebrag i've ever seen
It may be max level, but it is running for a very short time on each move.
It is much weaker than Stockfish would be if it were using its time.
If full strength Stockfish is run on decent hardware and allowed to use its time, even the best players would only rarely draw and lose the vast majority of games.

It is not a 'humblebrag'. I used an engine. I have no idea what I am doing when it comes to chess.
the server stockfish is very weak since they don't have that many resources to dedicate to computing positions amongst all the bot players, game analyses etc. if you want a stronger stockfish or just to watch chess engines play or something, you're better off using arena or similar software to run locally.
@Allonautilus the best players would only rarely draw?! Against a full strength Stockfish they would lose every single time.

The reason why SF played bad for it's standards is because it's handicapped. There's not much point in running a full strength SF that would just slaughter everyone it plays against.
Obviously when you use full force SF vs lvl 8 SF you are gonna win. It's worth keeping in mind that engines cannot consent to you using engine, which means you aren't allowed to.
