That was quite close to drawing on time or hitting 50-move rule but I did it :) Definitely need to revise the technique though. It is not really hard if you know main ideas and if you're good in tactics but quite tough to make decisions quickly, unlike KRvK and other elementary mates.

I can't do this.... I got like over 500 stalemates. This is very difficult. :/

I think this scenario should be included in the lichess training regiment... one should be able to whip this out with no problem, but even GM's have failed at this.

Always good, to practice it from time to time. First try I had it in 36 moves, but as I just waked up, I stalemated exactly before mate. What a start xD
But second try paying a bit more attention I got it. Below 40 moves seems good enough, only 8 over max.


As you might noticed, I basically had to repeat because as before I failed to notice what Stockfish did. So it would've been faster if played out correctly, which seems quite easy normally.

I thought you could only mate in the corner? Stockfish mated me in the middle.

that is incredible.... I guess a non-corner mate should be added to the repertoire as a possibility.
