I was lucky to find a chess board on Amazon that had zero borders. Because most of the chess boards sold have thick wide borders around the edges. I hate those. It makes the chess boards much bigger than they need to be. Plus it makes it hard to place them on confined spaces with little room to spare. The thing that surprises me is that House of Staunton sells chess boards but I couldn't find any that were borderless. Anybody know of sites that sell chessboards without borders besides looking on Etsy?
-Borders allow you to pick up the board without touching pieces
-They look better, the border frames the board like a picture
-You can put the square co-ordinates on the border
-Probably easier to manufacture cheaply while still looking good
-Much bigger?? They are usually 1-2cm thick, if you need the space that much, get a travel board

@Curious1 house of staunton as the pompous name seems to imply, sells posh boards. Without borders would be total antithesis to their business strategy i assume.
Oh thank you #3! Oh this is fantastic. Bookmarked it for future purchase. Wow.
@Curious1 I'm glad you like it. Just keep in mind that the squares in that board are on the small side of things.
50 mm?
buuuuuu
Ok my guess was wrong. Seemed plausible to me though.
