Playing aggressively works well in a lot of positions but not workable in many manyyyy positions who require slow positional understanding.

Actually, your opponent was the aggressive one.

There's a YouTuber (Kevin) who always mentions that he like to play aggressively. I think some people have the mistaken idea that this is some kind of unqualified positive. Nobody would respect someone who said "I like to shop aggressively" or "in conversations I like to be aggressive", so why do they think it reflects well on them in chess? Chess is a dance, and you can choose whatever style is most suitable for your character but please don't think a particular style makes you somehow better. Only your rating shows how good you are.

I play cautiously, passively and defensively and I will beat aggressive players who are rated less than 200 below me every time. So, play your own way and shut up about it!. :)
