Cozio Defense 4.d4

Hi- Cozio Defense seems fine for black and I have found resources on many variations, but there appears to be one variation which doesn't look too bad for black but I couldn't find any sources on it. That is 4.d4:

I would appreciate it if anyone has a good idea on what black should do against this. Thanks!

@tpr Forgive me. I just moved the line to a public study.

If everything is traded on d4, it seems to lower the potential spice in the game. What to do if I want to play for a win with black?
Ooof, I don't like this move Nge7 at all.
And I play openings like Grob with White and Englund with Black in serious games.
@FunnyAnimatorJimTV Because it allows black easy equality.

1. e4!! e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bb5 Nge7 4. d4 exd4 5. Nxd4 Nxd4 6. Qxd4 Nc6

Black has a nice, easy to play position, and should be at least equal.

@SycoraxCirce It's a very respected defense to the Ruy actually, relatively unexplored but perfectly sound.
Another good choice is 4...exd4 5. Nxd4 g6 6. Nc3 Bg7, again black has easy equality
In my database there are EIGHTEEN other moves that are more popular as Black's third move than Nge7 and it has a terrible score.
Water is right, with Black you play for equality in the opening, not advantage. Karpov taught us this.
black is always with disadvantage at the opening, black wants equality, and if you play e4!! e5 you are not fighting for a win with black, e4!! c5!! sicilian is for a win for black, any player can win there, but if you want to play that line the game will be decided at the middlegame, who plays better wins, there isn't any opening advantage on that position so practically there you skills will decide the game, i would recommend you sicilian defense if you want to score a full point with black, kasparov, fischer, MVL, Tal are one of the best sicilian players of all time, gl and happy checkmating!
