Puzzle Difficulty

Question: are the initial, non-rated, puzzles of the day always a little easier than the following rated puzzles? I always suspected they are.
I cannot say about non-rated, but the less played (more recent) puzzles seem clearly overrated compared to the older puzzles. Maybe this has to do with the player base: more active players with higher ratings?
It depends on your Training Rating. Yours is currently 1858 so the rated puzzles you see will be centred around that rating. The Puzzle Of The Day tends to be rated lower than that -- today's is 1723 (which I think is a little higher than normal) quite a lot less than your rating -- so yes, you will find them easier than the rated puzzles.

You can check for yourself, after a puzzle is completed the rating is revealed (easy to miss if you have the habit of hitting Continue Training immediately) -- I'm sure you'll see that I am right.
Thanks for responding gentlemen. GU- That is an interesting explanation. Your right I hadn't seen that puzzle rating for about a year. I'll look for it now.
It looks like you may be correct Unwashed. I'll go with that explanation unless I see some evidence to the contrary.

Thanks for putting that together for me. It wasn't obvious you had to dig a little, check my rating, realize the initial Puzzle is usually lower, piece it together.

Many Thanks.
