Naka and Bortnyk talking trash on Carlsen

Naka is the favorite in 1+0, or if he's not it's very recent. For a long time penguin was winning like 40% of games against Carlsen but 30% of games against Nakamura. Now that Carlsen plays more bullet maybe he's catching up but for most of the last 5 years or so Naka has been the easy favorite.
#11 this is what I’m talking about, have you seen them play bullet? Carlsen smashed Naka and he wasn’t trying. There is no comparison between the two. Carlsen is simply a better player in any format, by a very long shot. Positional understanding is on a totally different level. Where do people get these delusions?
These delusions may be because fireworks are overrated.
Carlsen is a god at simple chess, you can't beat that.
But in 2017 they played 1 1 bullet not 1 0. There is a huge difference between 1 0 without increment and 1 1 with increment. It's a totally different ball game.
#15 and the same thing was being said by the same people about how Naka is a favorite, and then they were given a cold shower by the champ.

Carlsen has shown dominance in 1 minute with no increment, 45 seconds, and even 30 seconds hyper bullet, berzerking 2600s one after another. It’s a groundless assumption that suddenly Naka would be a favorite in 1|0

#16

I don’t think playing VS himself counts as winning.

@Kusokosla Carlsen (to my knowledge) has never played 1+0, 45 seconds, or 30 seconds against Nakamura.

It's not groundless. I already gave the example of given players scoring better against Carlsen than Nakamura during the same time period. I'll give you the specifics though.

Looking exclusively at bullet chess without increment, the record of penguingim1 versus DrDrunkenstein is 109.5--156.5 (41%) and penguingm1 vs drnykterstein is 37.5--92.5. (29%) Combined, that's a record of **147 to 249** versus Carlsen, or a 37% win rate for pengingim1.

On chess.com, penguingm1's record vs Hikaru in bullet is 155-507, or 23%.

Carlsen has improved at bullet, which is why his win rate is 4% higher versus penguingim1 on his new account than his old account. Perhaps Carlsen is now the favorite given his improvement. But since Penguin has a 37% win rate in bullet against Carlsen and a 23% win rate in bullet against Nakamura, I think that's grounds to call Nakamura the favorite. Do you disagree?
We can compare the games they've played over the past year against common opponents to arrive at a relative comparison of their bullet strengths.

Points/opponent's points (draws included)
Magnus Carlsen against:

1. Andrew Tang
252 /147 = 1.7

2. Alireza Firouzja
55/33 = 1.6

3. Daniel Naroditsky
10/11 = 0.9

4. Oleksandr Bortnyk
14/5 = 2.8

================
Hikaru Nakamura against:

1. Andrew Tang
59/24 = 2.4

2. Alireza Firouzja
108/69 =1.6

3. Daniel Naroditsky
12/6 = 2

4. Oleksandr Bortnyk
20/6 =3.3

===========
Nakamura vs Carlsen
2.4 1.6 2 3.3 | 1.7 1.6 0.9 2.8
===========

Note: It is important to exclude older games for the obvious reason that many of these players are quite young and older games would favor Nakamura.

The data for Carlsen vs Andrew and Alireza might be tainted with games in other formats but there aren't that many so I think the error is negligible.

The numbers are rounded.
