A game expired but no one can checkmate

Black has remained with king and horse. White with king and Bishop.
Game is lichess.org/0YWWrA09

I think it is a bug to decide that the one with more time will win.
Both sides can checkmate in the corner.
As per FIDE Laws of Chess it is only a draw if there exists no series of legal moves that leads to checkmate.
Here such a series of legal moves exists, so you duly lost on time.
If you dislike that, then play with increment.

There is a famous study by Korolkow where such a mate appears. White sacrifices his 7th-rank pawn to lure Black's bishop on g8 next to the king on h8, then mates with Ng6.

However if such a position remains for like 5 moves on the board then a mate like this won't happen. I think in that case, after a couple moves, the game should still be declared draw.
There is a threefold repetition and 50 moves rule that will declare a draw in these positions.
#3 About "a mate will not happen"... what about this material configuration?

Under FIDE rules, Black wins; under USCF rules, the result is unclear:
A horse cannot deliver checkmate. However, a knight can. @cvomake

Btw, where were your complaints here? You cannot win, can you?

You know what they say - some you can't win, some you can't lose...
FIDE rules are simple: If you timed out, you lost.
With one exception, if checkmate isn't possible then the game is declared a draw.
Also I see you still had 5.5 seconds when you lost on time? Like, you didn't even need to worry about your bishop. I know it's really annoying when someone tries to flag you in a draw position, but by constantly premoving I think it's doable to get to the 50 moves draw.

I remember once being in a rook vs. rook situation (no more pawns) against a 2000 player who berserked and was close to losing on time. I accepted to trade off the rooks and draw though. Fairplay or dumb decision?
