Hi, I am a 1179 uscf rated player and I am wondering which website is better for improving my game: Chess.com or lichens.org. I currently have a diamond membership on chess.com but that could change if you guys give me some answers. Thanks!
Don't mind the typos. I meant to write lichess.org
Lichess by far has the better interface, developer team, community, all that stuff.
While lichess might not have as much content as chess.com does right now, the price of free is pretty damn good in my opinion. It's also open source, and it's a lot easier to navigate.
Also it's about what effort you put into improving your game that determines how much you improve, not necessarily the site.

I mean that lichess is open source, not chess.com.
Thanks for your insight! I am putting in a lot of effort into improving but I've been stuck in this rating range for about 6 tournaments. I have been using chess.com until about two weeks ago when I discovered lichess. I have a tournament on Saturday so ill see if i see any difference between those two websites.
Let me share some resources for you that might help you get a nicer understanding of the site, first one is John Bartholomew who does regular tournaments on lichess as well as a bunch of other stuff, like so, www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nz6N2mUEV_s and the second one is www.youtube.com/user/chessbrah who also does a lot of content on lichess.
I've played at basically every chess site. Lichess is the best.
Why? - because I said so.

There is a lot of good stuff at chess.com if you have a diamond membership. Some of the videos are really entertaining and I enjoyed doing chessmentor while I had a diamond trial. BUT, I find that watching videos and doing puzzles doesn't really help improve my chess. What I find does make me feel like I'm improving is studying tactics (Which you can do at Lichess for free.) and playing lots of games over the board in person and then analyzing them. Lichess I believe has the superior analytical engine. Also, again, it's free.
Ask on chess.com to hear people say they prefer chess.com;
Ask on lichess.org to hear people say they prefer lichess.org.
At the end only you can tell :)
