want to purchase a chess program

I want to purchase a chess chess program to use as a sparring partner, which may not be the strongest engine but has the most human like moves. With the best approximation at certain playing strengths from lets say 1700 to 2200. Is there such a program like this, because it seems to me that most of the time the focus is on improving the strength of the engine at every iteration and not on other areas?
Get a hold of chessmaster if you can find it ._ it has alot of personalities as well as waitzkins commentary._ i got up to 1900ish before i lost interest at that point but it was fun._
search for fritz. it have 5 or 6 levels from begining to master with lots of funtionality. a bit expansive, but one of best.
I got Fritz 9 in 2005 and DeepFritz 12 about 5 years ago.

Fritz has engines that you can customize to play certain styles, and you can even pit all of the different engines against one another in tournaments. For instance, I had SF10 play Fritz, and SF10 beat it up with ease.

Also, are massive study implements including a database as well as import/export features.

For my needs, Lichess is a one stop shop, but if I could definitely see Fritz being a great option if I ever wanted to take a serious run at a title. I imagine that I would profile all of my local opponents and begin extensive opening prep...but with that said...I really don't think that there is much that it has to offer that Lichess doesn't already have available, and not only that, but Lichess is much better for reasons that you will discover regardless of what program you purchase.

Ultimately, Lichess made chess programs obsolete in terms of study, but if you want to get one, try the latest DeepFritz; however, expect it to collect dust so long as Lichess is around.
@difford There are very good free ones... My favorite is Lucas Chess, It has got opponents from 1000 to 3100, It also has Lichess's rating strength so you can play with people of your own strength, and around 30 engines i think, Including Stockfish, Mcaine and Komodo.. Tactics, opening explorers and Games of almost all top Grandmasters.. It is the absolute best chess software i have ever used and it is free... Also Chessmaster is Very good also, but it doesn't have that much of a good analyzing system...
mine own favourite is Shredder, both on android and download for pc
