Hello there,
I was wondering if anyone could recommend some opening books similar to the "play the london system" from cyrus lakdawala. What I want are books that have annotated games (so one gets the basic ideas and motives) rather than boring books that purely just throw 1001+ lines at us). A Book for any opening is welcome, I would prefer a book on Catalan/English opening as white or Grunfeld/Scandi as black tho. Thanks!

Opening books are usually obsolete, wrong, or both. Especially if an opening is being played regularly, chances are big that book lines and analysis and ideas are not accurate. Catalan, English, Grünfeld, and Scandinavian are mainstream openings now, that are being played as we speak. It is often more accurate to search a data base for the line you are interested in and then analyse key positions yourself.
Sergey Kasparov: "Understanding the Scandinavian" has this kind of approach of teaching with games, if the Scandi is your thing.
