I really think that lichess.org is probably the best chess website out there, I don't think it needs any changes, at least not visible ones, the code, sure, it would be great if it were faster, but the graphics? They are fine already, if you do want a full screen board (why?) you can zoom in....
Will the mobile app also be improved? The website is so much better than the app. Thank you for making the website mobile, I will probably drop the app when we upgrade.

A minimalistic design is not a bad design at all. Just ask Google, why they don't stuff their site with colourful gimmicks...
