Are there chess GM families.
Are there any child/ grand child of a former world chess champion or strong GM, manage to became a GM ?
@unoc4oc5 They are siblings. I am wondering is about Father --> Son --> Grand son kind of relationships among Grand Masters
i think László Polgár actually wrote a chess book so he must have been good. don't know if he reached GM but he could have.
there is probably families known for their chess in the old days but GM titles are pretty recent and hard to get. Still, i feel there should be at least be one
Van Foreest is a Dutch chess family, the ancestors were masters, Jorden and his brother are GMs nowadays.
GM Pähtz and his daughter Elisabeth (WGM and IM)
See:
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_chess_familiesNot a GM chain, but NM -> GM -> NM isn't too shabby with Ronald -> Ben -> Spencer Finegold
Yes chess is a talent that can be inherited I always have said that future Grand Masters are made in the womb not by playing chess and training.
