Is it REALLY cheating?

@RegisterMeAlready

Not that you're cheating...but if you were, cheating isn't really "wrong".
Not that you're a psychopath...but if you were, it wouldn't really be "wrong".

Got it.

Like I said.
We see you.

People like you have forfeited your right to ever speak the words "right" or "wrong" or "just" or "unjust".

The only thing "human" about you is your appearance.
You have the empathy, and objective value, of a lizard.

You could choose to be a productive psychopath and earn respect; instead, you've chosen to be a pathetic, parasitic, psychopath.

Shame on you.

I reopen the suggestion to ban players who cheat from posting in the forums (not only as a punishment but also because they're the biggest dumbasses on the site).
@Onyx_Chess The whole point of the topic is that there is no harm in this particular case.

Let me give you an example, and try to get this : If it says on the front door, " No pets allowed", people will generally induce that bringing pets, perhaps with the exception of goldfish and the like, will likely provoke some issue with the person living there. They will under most circumstances avoid bringing pets, to avoid causing the owner any issues.

The pet's physical presence will leave some physical traces in the apartment, which may provoke issues for the owner. Maybe they are allergic to pets for instance. Maybe they fear animals. The pet's presence will likely invoke that. The presence or absence of the pet will make a difference, due to the physical impact the pet has on its environment.

If you put a note saying " don't cheat. We will track you down and kick your butt" at the entrance of a chess site, this is a somewhat meaningless statement. If someone uses assistance, it will be the same as if someone stronger were playing. It makes no difference to the system. Wining isn't really a difference.

The exception to this would be if the site somehow related to the real world, like if the ratings were being sent to FIDE, or if they were holding tournaments with real prize money.

If it helps you, treat my post as meta- discussion.
I think there is a simple solution to this that has more or less already been implemented. People flagged as cheaters can only play against other players who have been flagged as cheaters. Then you are both free to cheat to your heart's content, and everyone else is free to enjoy the site without you.
@Onyx_Chess In THIS case, in THIS particular case, there was little rational behind the sign. Not for pets, not for crossing the red light, just this particular case. Although come to think of it, almost any rule could have exceptions. I'm not even sure how we should go about setting rules. I guess for now we can all agree about pets and red lights.
You are not being "assisted" by your engine in any way, you just copy moves 90% of the time by looking at your games, you don't improve in any way by doing that. Boohoo, the engine plays an opening you don't know so you are at a disadvantage, do you even believe your own words? If you want to play chess with engines go on a correspondence server, there you'll get your butt handed by actually skilled players. The only reason you use an engine is so you can trash on humans that are mentally many steps ahead of you, stop kidding yourself.
