I don't know exactly your strengths and weaknesses, but one component of getting to 2200 blitz is having openings for white and black that you know well, understand the ideas, and are totally solid in - i.e. even if playing a strong player you can almost always get to the middle game with a +0.5 if white and a -0.5 if Black.
As cheapo tactics won't suffice to reach 2200 (although spotting and avoiding blunders still helps) you need to understand the thematic ideas of your typical middle games well enough to play them quickly.
