new idea for consideration to lichess and its users and to the fans of lichess

While we're at it why don't we just award a full point to every player regardless of whether they win or lose. Participation trophies for everyone!
Get over it or leave it. But don‘t try to change it.

J.H. Donner:

"It is mainly the irreparability of a mistake that distinguishes chess from other sports. A whole game long and there is only one point to score. Just one mistake and the battle is lost, even though the fight may go on for hours. ... That's why a mistake hits so hard in chess."

Good idea.

If you really think about it, if I'm getting crushed in a position and eventually checkmated, but I've only spent 1/10 the time my opponent has, then this is a small victory for me.

Sure he outplayed me, but I have much more time left. I should receive points for this as well.
Instead of improving people wanna cover their defiencies by changing some hundred year old rules and gaining points for playing bad.

To speak bluntly: ideas like that are batshit insane. It is utterly mad to change a zero-sum game.
