Hey guys,
Is there a classical tournament here ? like 30 minutes games with increments or more.
thanks
There are 20+10 arenas, but they are rare, lichess does not run traditional tournaments, but some users run them here.
There is a league called "lichess4545" (45+45, team-based) and another called "lonewolf", both run long classical games.
Sometimes there are also leagues and tournaments run on the forum, some of which may be classical.
There are traditional arenas like monthly and weekly classical
thanks guys, i will sure check that out
There is a classical arena every Friday. The next one starts in a few minutes. Unfortunately this is in the middle of the workday for many Americans. Hopefully Lichess will add at least one more per week at a different time.
Don't forget, you can create your own tournaments. Although I cant seem to find how to extend the time longer than 7|2
Not classical ones, user-created arenas cannot have a base time over 7 minutes or a delay over 2 seconds, so the maximum time control is 7+2, which is barely in the rapid range (6+2 and 7+1 are both in the blitz range).
You can create longer than 7+2 by marking the tournament private, but then a password is needed to join. I suppose you could then share that password publicly.
You could even put it in the name, name it the "pswrd:"abc" Arena" so everyone knows the password is "abc", but why should we have to resort to tricks like that?
I would really like to know the reason for this limitation.
