I believe these are supposed to be used for stepping through the moves of a game (e.g. during analysis). The problem is that if you hold your thumb on the button it goes through many moves at lightening speed. So it is easy to accidentally go more than one move ahead. This happens by accident regularly for me, and the action will zip forwards 2 or 5 or 10 moves, seemingly at random. Very annoying!
I propose that the response of these buttons should be changed so that holding them down should never result in more than one "click". If you wanted to go many moves ahead, you can tap on the move list instead (which already works). I am not sure if the current "hold down" operation is intentional, but if it is, it is fairly unusable anyway since the scrolling is so fast.
