Practical tipp: defending R-RP (b- / g-pawn) passively is easiest

Blitz game, White ACPL 5 0/0/0

Black defended well but fell victim to eventually. It easier to defend passively with the rook on the base rank. Then there is not much White can do in that case.

Note: this solely works with g- or b-pawn but it’s foolproof. Side-note: not with g-pawns^^

I would have played 58... Kg7 as black going for the Philidor position. I can't understand why to think in this endgame.
Indeed. Keeping the 6th rank is quite easy as well. If it isn’t feasible see #1^^
Yeah. I just wanted to point out that one can even retreat to first rank immediately.

Worst case scenario: you cannot decide which drawing continuation to choose and run out of time.

Yes, in blitz with inc<3 the best practical strategy is to retreat both king and rook on the backrank immediately, shuffle the pieces as quickly as possible and watch for the stalemate idea on the third rank.
