Why does stockfish...

The king's gambit is considered as an unsound gambit in chess theory, so yes, f4 is an inaccuracy like with all true gambits. The queen's gambit is the exception because if you play accurately you can always get the pawn back but that is not the case with the king's gambit

How could it be an April Fools joke; it wasn't even April Fools when it was posted, it was The 2nd of April.
That depends on your time zone. Also if you read the start it says the interview was taken on the day after March 31. Besides it should be quite clear that the KG is not that bad that you can simply refute it so easily. (especially considering how much weaker engines were back than compared to now)
And finally: en.chessbase.com/post/the-chebase-april-fool-s-prank
My understanding is that at the moment engines are nothing special at openings if they don't have access to opening books (I suppose this would only hold for non-neural net engines), and that their evaluations of openings such not be taken as definitive

Bobby Fischer wrote that Boris Spassky said to him that in his opinion the Kings Gambit doesn't give much for white, but then again the Ruy Lopez and Giuoco Piano don't either

Kasparov played the Evan's gambit and won with it, at the moment gambits tend to be used as surprise weapons by GM's (if they use them at all)
Boris Spassky has an extraordinary record with the Kings Gambit
Cuz you're losing a pawn while weakening your kingside.
For humans in slow time control, it would be difficult to refute the gambit, however engines defend so well that white's initiative would be of no problem, and white would be just a pawn down.
"The King's Gambit is an almost always forced win for black, so it is obviously a mistake."

I'm choking with laughter
Even better moves are dubbed „?!“. I had KID games and the inaccuracy was 1.d4 g6?!

It depends though, sometimes they are inaccurate, sometimes not.

To KG: in other openings you would pay some bucks if you bring your opponent to weaken his kingside with a f-pawn move. It is reasonable that it is considered weak because White‘s probably has to equalize first. Other positions are preferable.
