Generally don’t let your opponent take your bishop like that with his knight, throwing in f6 or h6 prior would stop his knight from coming to g5. This’d bishop is usually needed for an attack, and to oppose the power of your oppponent’s g2 bishop.

He should have probably played h4 to stop your ...h4.
