Will The Net Neutrality Repeal Affect Lichess?

So... The Net Neutrality Vote has been decided, and repealed. Internet Providers could potentially charge more for certain websites. :/ Will this affect Lichess?
I mean, nothing is certain. It totally could affect lichess, but... for all we know, it also couldn't.

Also, the vote isn't over. It still has to go through congress, and congress will strike it down. Plus, the FCC has to deal with 17 states suing them.
Literally nobody knows.

We don't even know if the repeal will actually happen or get eaten up by some court, we obviously don't know how fast anything will be implemented if it fully passes, and we also have no idea whatsoever WHAT will be implemented if it actually fully passes and anything gets implemented.
It could without doubt affect lichess. There are many users from the US on lichess that could be affected by this monstrosity. Thankfully, the fight is not over yet. It looks like the Net Neutrality spectacle will be locked in court for a while. Also there are loads of upcoming elections in 2018. If I were an American I would use the election for all its worth, by voting smart. Contact your elected official, and make sure they know your point of view. You can also donate to www.savetheinternet.com to help them fight the battle.
As everyone else here has stated, it could affect lichess, but also maybe not. But it still has to pass through congress and such. It's pretty likely that it won't pass through. As lovlas said, contacting elected officials and voting smart in the 2018 elections would help.
USA people knew hes gonna destroy net neutrality, they knew Hillary wouldnt. Voila. Now they pay the price.
Not directly. But, Internet providers and politicians all over the world will be watching this. We have to make sure they don't get any silly ideas.
