I am confused by the fact that Lichess is always promoting social points which are very polarizing. Is this still a chess site or is a social justice or a complain site? What is lichess now? I thought it was a chess site.
Perhaps Thibault should start moderating more closely in a way that we dont insert more flame to social issues. This includes Ukraine, Russia, USA, black, blue, Hispanics, politics, religion, etc. Please lets keep it chess oriented.
Just get off of this website if someone/something supporting human rights for my fellow queer folk and I makes you mad. Supporting the LGBTQ+ is not inherently polarizing, it is those who make it a political subject that do.
@danielc23 again you are entitled to your opinion. Just don't assume something about me. If you get mad of queer people then sorry for you, I am fine with the gay community.
I am basing my opinion off the fact that this is a chess site. I couldn't care less about politicians and their talking points to rally others.
I agree, Lichess will eventually die just like every other company/corporation butting their nose where it don't belong. We want to play chess, not see a bunch of political bs. Dont worry, eventually they will pay just like every other company following this satanic path.
How many big chess sites are there? I can think of two other main ones than Lichess. After that, there a few lesser known ones which aren't as good and don't have as many people.
Can you think of the major airports in your country? How many are there? In the US this usually comes to LAX in Los Angeles, Seattle, NY, and Boston. Maybe Dallas if you are in the south or transferring and then Chicago is also a big hub airport.
The point is, these airports and airline companies are in competition with one another. They can't really ignore groups. Same thing with these chess sites.
You have stumbled upon a hub for people with the interest of chess. This isn't some back alley or countryside area.
Imagine if a store only sold forks. No knives, no spoons, no bowls or plates. Just forks.
You may not be interested in spoons or knives. Maybe you eat like a caveman and stab food with your fork collection. That's great, but other people come to this kitchen wanting cereal or soup. So they need spoons. They want to spread jam or jelly (or even that nutella stuff) on their bread (is that right Australians?).
We got to find a way to just let it be. It's only one month. Hold your breath, it will be over soon. July is just around the corner and you can enjoy all the hetero cisgender loving you were meant to digest at one sitting.

What exactly is being imposed? No one is making you change your sexual orientation. No one is making you express yourself with a different identity. No one is punishing you for your identity.
So, what is being imposed? A blog is not chess either. So why are you reading any blog? Concentrate on the chess if that is all you want from this site.
people playing chess on a donation-based, ad-free, libre, community driven server, run from each according to their ability, to each according to their needs, wondering: "how come lichess suddenly has a political agenda?"
