No respect for poeple like this.

it's funny how people keep starting this argument and it keeps going on for like 10 pages. please stop, everybody. The forums don't need this.

How dare you to know that and not to tell everybody who is simply too lazy to figure it out himself? Isn't this rudeness taken to the extreme? I mean, some here simply can't be bothered to learn the interface, so it is your (and everybody elses, for that matter) job to accommodate this laziness and offer takebacks, tips and everything else. It is solely your fault if these people (sorry, my bad: that should read "poeple",like in the title and several answers) threaten to stop playing chess.

And while we are at it: isn't it just common courtesy to tell your opponent what you plan in a game and how to avoid it so that he doesn't accidentally fail to win?

Btw., do you know what a "Long Goodbye" is? This:

This really adds a whole new meaning to the phrase "no longer". But maybe it is a "scandol".

@HumbleFrench I've been in the same situation. Don't quit chess because of that. The problem is for sure the time control. You have to play with slow time control so you are not stressed and don't make mistakes like missclicks. Also there just are a lot of people who need to win to feel somewhat relevant. It doesn't matter.
The reason I disabled takebacks was because I kept having situations where my opponent would make a move, call "mouse slip" and ask for a takeback, then move a different piece on the other side of the board because they realised that move was a mistake. Would you defend these people as well?
Just take the extra 1 second to castle right...

Sincerely

One who rarely allowes takebacks
