Correspondence chess.

Can we have a correspondence mode? It's quite funny and gives one time to think and stuff.
I'm putting that on the todo list. It's not quite trivial to achieve tho, especially if I have to make lichess send emails. I suspect some restrictions on the server about it. We'll see.
I thought of that, yeah, it's not easy stuff to make. Impossible, actually, if you want anonymous users to have access to it too. But well, just as an idea.
Glad to hear you were already wondering about it.
Correspondence chess of course does not require e-mails.

It could basically be a copy implementation of what you are doing for the Inbox messaging system, with some rudimentary modifications.
@thibault: I would say to forget sending out emails. Let it make a PM saying "It is your move in this game [insert link]"

If correspondance is at least 1 move per 1 day, then someone should be able to log-in at least once to check whether it is his turn anywhere or not.

Making it accessable for anonymous seriously sounds impossible and this would need to be for registered members only.
Well you can as well bookmark the game page. I don't see much benefit in receiving PMs.
True. You should also be able to find the game in your archives, if you forgot to bookmark it. Then screw the notifications :)
ICCF is a freestyle game

Using chess programs in ICCF tournaments standard, it's legal and they do it by almost everyone. The success determines the ability to sense the moments in which the program takes the wrong strategic decision and force analysis in the right direction, the knowledge on the chess game elements with which programs are doing the least (closed positions, complex end ...) - and the overall ability to lead analytical work using a computer. These are completely different skills than those required for playing live or online! I know a case of a player who live in the game has a rating in the order of 1400 correspondence chess almost 2600 and wins grand master norm.

There is no point playing the ICCF tournaments on their own. It makes sense to invest in the strongest programs and modern powerful computer
