resign button

When playing game, if losing, I don't see a resign button. How do I resign? There is a message saying if I just let time out happen, it results in temporary ban. What gives?

It's the flag to the right of the board, under the move list.

What are you playing from, the website, the Android app, or the iOS app?
On the iOS app the button on the bottom left opens a menu with a resign button.
I am not sure about the others, but I assume it is similar.
Alternatively, you can just play on until you are mated.

On the Android app, you have to click on the 3 dots at the bottom-left of the screen. There, there will be a button labelled "resign".

The interface for draw offers and resigning is incredibly non-intuitive. Lichess players are used to it, but I saw several times how new streamers came to Lichess and tried to find how to resign and just didn't get how to do this. Not only they need to find a flag, but also click it twice, and there is no clear indication for that. What is even worse - when they try to offer a draw, they think that the draw is offered by clicking once, being annoyed by the opponent who "declines it" in a dead drawn position.
