takebacks are fine for............. dumb moves?

That's why you can disable 'takeback'. It's your privilege to offer takebacks if you like and it's your right to receive no takeback requests at all, so you don't need to put up with the other player's hissy fit.

However, FIDE itself should allow takebacks by agreement but not more than three times during the same game. For instance, one takeback could be allowed by agreement it the player calls the arbiter and kisses the opponent's shoes as a sign of request. The second one if he kisses the opponent's shoes crying like a baby and asking for mercy, and the last one if (in a private room) he does whatever the opponent wants. (no camera allowed). For faster time control like blitz and bullet, the procedure could be initiated before the game starts, in a so called takeback room - a place where all takeback enthusiasts could help themselves in advance.
