Suggestion - Swiss System Tournaments

For swiss system tournaments, I don't believe that players should be paired in any round if they are not at the tournament page on time, regardless of having signed up earlier. They should be auto-withdrawn instead. This is a major problem with swiss tournaments as they are now implemented which causes a large number of games scheduled but not actually played. This leaves the player who shows up in the lurch and will likely result in losing a player.

I agree with the problem statement. I don't play Swiss tournaments for this reason. I spent too long waiting for the next round to start only to find that I'm left high and dry ... waiting for the next round.

I don't know about the solution. It could work.
