Zh Bimonthly Tournaments

I have been reading a lot of discussion about the discontinued Bitchess zh tournaments, and they were indeed a lot of fun and we must thank Bitchess for the time and money he invested in making this great game more popular!

Unfortunately, these tournaments have been discontinued, so after some nudging from the participants of these tournaments, I decided to continue them! I will name them after my family name and start the first one on:

Sunday, 30th of July

The first tournament will be a 3+2 2-hour long tournament followed by a 1/2 + 0 2-hour long tournament (same timing as the Bitchess ones). Prizes: $50 total ($20 first, $15 second, $5 third, $10 mystery prize). If anyone has any suggestions or improvements, I'm all ears.

nice i liked those tournaments but i think there is no need for pricemoney

Prize money adds some legitimacy to this event and, most important, we make this game gain some prestige!

@opperwezen I actually disagree; the prize money draws the strong players. The bitchess tournaments always had stronger players than the major tournaments that didn't have prize money, like yearly crazyhouse arenas and such, and the money is a big reason why.

I'm super excited to have these tournaments again! Thank you so much FishyVishy for investing your money and time in crazyhouse.

and yeah, money helps draw a strong crowd which is the best part of these tournaments for me

Just to clarify: These tournaments will happen twice a month. The second pair of tournaments will be on the 13th of August, and the third on the 27th, etc.

I really missed the good old Bitchess style tournaments. Thanks Fischy for bringing back the golden age of crazyhouse!

were these on Saturday or Sunday? if its sunday then maybe Jann can't make it? (since it's Monday for him I think)
