one of my friends thought it was weird that I jam out to music while playing casual online chess matches; something about taking focus away from the game. I wanted to get some of your opinions -- do you guys listen to music during games? If so, do you think it helps with your play? Do you have a preferred genre or group?

I do listen to music quite a lot while playing- depends on whether I want to go crazy and rock out or just relax. As for whether you should do the same- it depedns on whether it will distract you... you're the best judge of that.

l do go Crazy on Music l do it about 5 times a week l do Rock Music most of the time and while l am playing Rated it helps me Think of Ideas, and Music doesn't distract me too much and My friend thinks it is wired. and some times l do YouTube music for 6 hours!
I do, but I'm sure it disturbs me
I listen too but I play better when I dont listen music especially in rapid games
IDK maybe that is not for me!
