I there a reason lichess doesnt have any opening explorer?

@ummmwhatever there is no difference in features between free users and donators on this site (except that donators got a wings emblem on their profile, which is purely aesthetic).
To be fair, the lichess tools are probably not what most people would call an "Opening Explorer".

- Neither can you search for opening names nor is there a tree or something like that for common variations.

- You see only four games from the database, sorted by rating. There is no way to change that, so you have no chance to explore for example the recent trends in a line.

- There are way too many online games from somewhere else in the db. Who wants to get a game between "Rakete" and Rentner2" in a "masters" database?

- It is impossible to find the very first game for a line. This often useful when you want to understand the initial ideas. But Capablanca, Staunton and many other players from the past are missing.

I really like Lichess, and I use it to host my opening studies. But when I want to learn an opening, I use chesstempo.com/chess-openings.html and import the games and names that I need, because Lichess is just not made for that.

Are you sure you're using the master database? This looks like the lichess database. Use the gear button on top right.
I'm not tryig to cause an issue, and at this point I don't even remember how to get back to chess opening explorer? it doesnt seem to be on any of the top buttons on the homepage and I used the search functkion. It also didnt seem to have a full database with all the greatest players(which I understand may be time consuming but could help a lot of plaerys and improve the quality of the site), just mainly 2000-2400 player tactics from lichess. Maybe I saw this from another sit on chess365.com and if so I'm sorry, not sure, but I can't find it on here.
Yes, I am sure. This happens quite often. Unfortunately there is no "report" button on those games, and reporting them manually is too laborious, otherwise I would have reported dozens of games already.
Lichess doesn't have a real opening explorer. When you enter a position, it doesn't tell you what is usually played in that particular position. It only tells you statistical winning chances for some possible moves.

There is a big difference. Let me illustrate: open analysis board, set opening explorer to show all games played on Lichess and play 1.f3 e5 2.g4. The explorer tells that 2...d5 is the most common move with 86 appearances. 2...Nc6 and 2...Bf5 are the most common alternatives. So you cannot trust the explorer because you might miss the best move if you do. And that is because it is not an opening explorer. If you think that this is stupid example see this thread for a real example: lichess.org/forum/game-analysis/i-need-help-with-my-philidor-study. With the help of the community I learned how confused I was back then.

I have understood that Chess Tempo has an opening explorer, but you need to pay for it and I haven't so far. Having a free opening explorer in Lichess would be a killer feature.
It seems an urgent attitude adjustment is in order.
Not 100% happy? Try another site. They would love to have you.
Don't let the door hit you on the way out.
OK, I goes i'll just use chess365 or chesstempo for full chess openings since people want to be so insulting when I'm simply asking how to use it on lichess and no one has giving me any explanation at all. I'm a noob on this site, sorry. I love lichess compared to chesscom and will continue to use it but this is uncalled for.. have a a nice cay.
By the way rizka10, I believe we have been improving opening books with very powerful computer for several decades. i dont think it would be too difficult to implement this into lichess. These books have been anaylzed for thousands if not hundreds of thousands of hours, not a few seconds by lichess engines. I STRESS that I'm not bashing lichess in any way. i just thought these could be possible improvements to help people on the openings and evaluations.
