And for sheer typo-prone extravagance I'd have to nominate Korchnoi's Chess Games (edited--if that's quite the word for it--by Levy & O'Connell). I actually had to dock it two stars on goodreads (for that reason alone).
And in the sub-category of Lamest Indexing System Ever: the one used for the Oxford Encyclopedia of Chess Games. It proved at least as difficult to understand as chess itself.

I bought this book 7 years ago so perhaps mistakes have been corrected, but very early on I was catching puzzles with incorrect solutions.. I once wrote to the authors and the guy confirmed it was a mistake and he would correct it, so at least the authors are responsive, but what if you don't catch the mistakes? In any case, it's written by amateur players and it didn't have to show, but it does... ratings on Amazon are good though so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ben Finegold's "teachings" could make an interesting chapter in such kind of book. 😀😀😀
I believe ChessCafe has a very scathing/humorous review of Schiller's Frankenstein-Dracula book. Their archives are behind a paywall now though :/
@Muleskinner #17 Very optimistic title. I don't know this book, but it maybe good as a joke book, to crack some jokes at a dinner party.
