Say v1 in chat if you like v1 over v2
For me this is a hard decision, I could use a bit darker background but that is not like a huge deal for me. It is a lot more clean so I vote v2. I will not argue against other people's opinions, I just want to see them.
P.S. For those complaining about board size; press control and then use a mouse to scroll to change computer size or drag the diagonal 3 dashed lines. For those with no mouse, press the 3 dots in the corner and press change the number on zoom.

I prefer v1. There are a lot of complaints about v2, but I haven't seen any of them. The complaint I would have is that when resizing the board, the other tables increase in size. I would like to the chat disappear completely and the move list remain the original size. (I would like the challenge table to be ordered by time, but that is an issue in both versions so it doesn't count in this discussion.)
This is just a small issue, and I really appreciate a truly free chess site.
v2.
I prefer v2. I don't even see the performance improvements promised despite trying to measure them. I just see a style that supports analysis more which is what I'm into. I do think that v1 better supported bullet. I also think it would be rather easy code-wise to offer a v1 style. Unfortunately it seems that the staff/community isn't too keen on allowing this (mods/popular members being outright dismissive in threads despite user wishes) and it doesn't even seem to be for anti-cheat reasons as I initially thought (after all, the two popular methods were fixed within a few days and have remained high ban-rate). Maybe it is a matter of pride. I haven't followed it close enough to determine that.
v2 for me
V2 because of the mobile/tablet website support.
I wasn't ever a fan of the Android app, it has a small subset of features and gives a limited view on everything. So, I ended up just using chrome on android and looking at the site that way, which was full featured, but difficult to read and browse.
Now I just use the same website on phone, tablet, and desktop. It is great.
Note that I mostly do puzzles and studies on lichess.
To me its clear. V2 is my favourite!

v1 or v2, don't notice the difference.
I would like the tech team to add features to the app though, for instance, to add a game to a study. Now I need a laptop to do that properly.
I'm trying to learn from my mistakes (like everybody else, I guess), so when there's a game I want to review later, I want to be able to click "add to study" right after the game ended and then continue play.
The next day when I want to do some analysis (on a laptop, probably) I just have to open the study and check the new chapters.
V2 for me
Most people prefer v1, but they are polite, quiet and make the best of it with v2.
