Hey, so I have encountered that behaviour second time now. We played fair game and opposite player lost couple of major pieces/pawns he then after move 13 decided to resign but before that he gave me +15seconds 9 times. ( My message to developers is to change the way it works - in history I should be losing time normally and if opponent give me time in round 20let's say then my time is increased 3mins 2sec -> 5mins - right now it looks like as if I had 5minutes on time every single move.

imgur.com/a/rVhaEHUbecause they are highly stressed for they are loosing the game and uncounsciously looking for a way to release their anger.......it can be done by several ways for example rapidly clicking a button (add +15 sec) or they find another way for example leaving the game without resigning, leaving the clock to tick, put their keyboard through the window, hit their head in the wall, punch a sandbox etc....its not hard to figure out by yourself. its easy to get fustrated by chess or other mmos. i once left a game by unplugging my computer because i was angry. games where statistics are important are games that more people can be angry at. for example c.s.1.6 chess rated games whatever,
Your link only shows that your opponent GAVE you time it doesn't indicate in any way that you USED so much time.
Have a look at the time graph from your game. You can clearly see that white didn't use this extra time .
image.prntscr.com/image/4el9LQEdQCujthZ-9CQIJw.pngIt happened to me right now, I realised that my opponent gave me an extra minute, he did that because he was running out of time and was hoping I would give him more time as well to play.
Maybe it's what happened to you...
Is it okay if you have a checkmate in a few and you give them, say a minute, just to slightly prolong their torture? ^-^
Hahaha!
If he hadn't seen the mate coming maybe!!
In the game I was talking about, he was also in a very difficult position, yet he wanted to continue.. (probably hoping for a couple of blunders lol)
@RegisLakrids Maybe your opponent thought the +15 seconds button would give him extra time.
@NoobBatter When YOU"RE ahead and you give extra time just to screw around with your opponent and rub salt in it, it's bad sportsmanship. I wouldn't do that unless the opponent was rude to me first in some way.
And if someone does it to me I retaliate by going to another tab and doing something else and not moving until a second is left on my clock to make him have to wait.
Hahah it's funny all the little games within a game.
Players who add unrequested time to their opponents' clock are, in all likelihood, man-children in the middle of a tantrum because their mommies won't make them another batch of tendies. The add-time button becomes a kind of release-valve for their rage.
The best thing you can do is use the extra time to win. Then you can enjoy the mental image of them mashing on their keyboard when they close their browser without resigning.
I once thought I was winning and my opponent was low on time, so I gave him a minute more time. Then I made a blunder and I was lost, but I won the game anyway.
