What does it mean to have 1500 at classic, online?

Hello, I started playing chess 3 months ago, here online, I have been improving and reached 1500 in classic (I guess anyone can do this if I did it by just playing and watching a guy on youtube) the thing is I want to go to a real tournament that (never been to one) but I don't know if I'm going to be destroyed or not, I mean, is everyone better than me or are there players of my level too (that are not 7 year olds)? thanks
In an open tournament you will meet really all kind of players, from master to beginner. I looked at some of your games, you are not that bad! You will lose games, but you won't be destroyed. As you have no Fide-rating, they will seed you to the end of the field. That means you will have to play stronger players in the beginning, so maybe you will lose the first rounds and only then get opponents of your level. So be prepared for this mentally. If you can, go to a chess club, you will find players that are on your level. You are definitely good enough to play in a club or in a tournament und you will improve further.
Expect to be destroyed. Unless you get into some U1500 tournament youre chances aren't good. Most people play at 1800 strength in local tournaments and the 2000 guys win them. The skill gets much higher if you go to stronger tournaments say 2100 at 50%. You need to give chess a couple of years to play at somewhat "decent" level.
@seoule Thank you, thats what I thought, that I would lose until I got opponents of my level like here online when you start with 1500? but you really are 900. So with how much ELO would I start? thanks

@kenzaburo Well I don't know how it works but I wasn't expecting to play with 2000 people, I was expecting to play at the lower levels, so my question is. will I get destroyed at low levels too? Or could I play and win some? I won`t take it too serious, just want to have fun and play in real life.
In real life there is no 1500? to start with. After the tournament they calculate the average of your opponents and your percentage against them. So this will be your first rating. Without rating you will be last seed in the tournament.
I'd recommend checking out a local chess club instead of just bee lining to tournaments. It depends on the club you end up at but you'll generally meet players of all sorts from casual amateur to master. As clubs also tend to have alcohol it generally creates a more relaxed atmosphere than the more intense environment you'll get at tournaments.
@quinigt
I guess only 10 year old kids play at 1500 level. If you play a tournament then it will be the Swiss System. Which means Round 1 (strongest player vs weakest player, 2nd strongest vs 2nd weakest etc.) Round 2 (same thing but your opponent has to have the same amount of points that you). So you should expect to play the strongest player in the first round. Then the strongest player out of those who lost in the first round and so on. Usually it's 7-9 rounds. Say you'll be outmached in the first three games for sure. (So first 3 games 0 points). And things will really start after game 4 when you'll play against an opponent of similar rating so you get a 50% chance. Say you win one game, lose one and make two draw. (50% out of the 4 games left) Total result 2/7. If you consider that 2/7 doesn't imply getting smashed then go and play, if you want to get at least 3/7 train some more.
@kenzaburo Ok I see thanks for the response, well winning 2 out of 7 would be fun, if those 2 are not 10 year olds of course, anyways I would give it some months more (maybe until I have 1700 here, which seems pretty decent). So is it weird for a 20 year old to start playing chess tournaments? thanks
That's not correct. Let's say 100 players, it means No.1 plays against 51, No.2 against 52 and so on. So last seed is perfectly fine. Don't let them discourage you.
I also started playing chess 3 months ago and i will play my first tournment on 12th dec the national championships i know i will get crushed but it doesn't matter its not the end of the world but 5 years from now i will revenge
