how can i improve my chess?

Tactics, tactics and tactics. Not only doing it, try to understand in what kind of positions tactics exist by analazying your owm games. also play casual with 1850+ opponents.
Watch someone play at lichess tournament, then observe what tactic and techniques he uses, how he move from opening to endgame, then u realized something u must improve in ur game
- Practicing and analysing games is of course pivotal
- Tactical exercises were extremely beneficial for my improvement, nowadays there are good free websites, for instance chesstempo.com
- Learning some basic endgames is useful as well
- There are some good books, for instance John Nunn is an excellent author
- I can also recommend the Youtube Channel of Grandmaster Daniel King www.youtube.com/channel/UCMBATpFb--uLNAODOVWvCTA
- Last not least: It is very beneficial to have contact with other more experienced players discussing your games. Real life discussions for instance in a chess club are optimal. Virtual discussions are far less efficient.

Generally "excercising" is more important than "learning". There is no recipe, which works in every position. Sometimes you have to calculate very precisely and deeply. Sometimes you cannot calculate deeply, because there are too many possibilities, and you have to trust your intuition. Intuition is important and often underestimated. Experience and exercise strengthens the intuition.
Play only rapid & classical, no blitz, no bullet.
Analyse all of your lost games thoroughly so as to learn from your mistakes.
