The lichess computer AI is a wasted learning opportunity

Why is it that the computer AI on lichess seems to be programmed to play nonsense in the openings? I mostly play it for fun on Level 6, and the openings it plays just makes it boring for the most part. For instance, I just tried a few games with white and black and this was the result:

Game 1: 1. Nc3 (already a bit strange) d5 2. d3 e5 3. d4?
Really? It plays d3 and then d4? What kind of nonsense is this?

Game 2: 1. e4 d5 2. exd5 c6 3. dxc6 Nxc6
This isn't so bad, but this is something the computer on level 6 plays so damn often it gets so boring. It seems that if I play e4 against it, there's about an 85% chance it'll play d5 and some stupid gambit. It gets boring.

Game 3: 1. d4 d6 2. e4 e5 3. dxe5 Nc6 4. exd6 Qxd6
Again, I don't think people would play like this. It's just not good.

Lichess has a huge opening book at its disposal: why not use it with the computer to encourage players to learn proper openings and principles? The point of the AI on Lichess seems to be, "haha, look, I can play nonsense against you and probably still win." Why? I used to play the Houdini program from Chessbase a lot, with an integrated opening database. One of the nice things about doing this is that the computer will follow book moves until you deviate from it. This was great because in the long run I memorised the moves and learnt a ton of theory from it, simply by playing a lot. And it was a lot of fun too. Why not allow something similar for the Lichess AI?

I am one of those who enjoy playing the computer, and I love lichess, but it's so tiresome to play this AI. It seems designed on purpose to avoid common lines in openings, and I just cannot understand why this should be the case. Ideally we could even choose ourselves how much book the computer should use, or something like that.

Maybe this is just an "old man yells at cloud" complaint but it's a little sad that I have to still use that program from chessbase every time I want to play the computer when I'd rather use Lichess.

Thanks for reading anyway.
Yeah, I would rather have the compter play perfectly in the opening and terribly in the middlegame and endgame. It would serve as GREAT openings practice. Maybe that should be an option, for the computer to play a perfect opening.
You could start from a position if you want to play a specific opening. Set it up in the board editor or analysis board and hit 'Continue from here'.
#1 I agree. Perhaps some BOT accounts might be able to start us down a good path here...
