Another shitstorm of spam and confusion because Lichess just drops things on us with no announcement

And every time it happens predictably the forums get spammed out with endless pages of people confused and creating redundant posts. At first it seems baffling why such an obviously bad practice, with such an easy alternative would continue indefinitely. Baffling that is until the light bulb goes on and you realize that it's because if they announced changes before implementing them, they would be drawn into discussions with the Lichess community which would allow its users an opportunity to give their input into decisions made on this website. It's clear the closed circle of elite devs and senior management that run this place don't want our input and would rather not have to communicate with us in any way. But it's free so I'm not going to complain.
Me noob thinks such things are discussed on github/discord beforehand?

Looks like me lazy to touch the discord app.
While I support the decision of Lichess of removing the option to view followers, as well as I acknowledge that it's completely free and that developers take on their own time out of generosity, I do agree that it would be nice to have more transparency about the planned updates, and not only on github or discord.

In my opinion, the best option would be a page with a list of planned changes and users would be able to vote for or against each change. The devs wouldn't necessarily need to take the polls into account, but I think that would still give more transparency as well as valuable inputs about what the user base really wants.
